Pono's Hawaiian Burger

I just left Brick & Mortar when I happened to see Pono's, with just the word written, "burgers" on the aluminum sided building called a "quinsett", (hut), as my server, Brian told me.  I just saw Pono's review on the news last week and then Sasha, from Bristol Farms recommended it.  The Kuawa Crunch was recommended by a nearby patron.  It has 1 yr. Hook Cheddar, housemade organic russet potato chips, housemade cole slaw, housemade spicy guava rum sauce. The cheese is from Andrew's Cheese.   My classic was great and I only wish that I could have eaten more than a third of it because it is best served hot and fresh. When it was served the look of the burger was peeking out and I liked that, seeing the meat filling out under the bun.  The bun was very good, with a good size.   I loved the first bite of a dill pickle slice and the heirloom tomato, which made a big difference.  When I finished I went to back where the kitchen is.  I met Marlin, he comes with 8 years of experience with burgers and takes much pride in what he does.  I very much look forward to returning to Pono's to try the Kuawa.
